Obviously a venue close to decent 4WD tracks was paramount, but our experience from the 2004 Jambo showed us that one of the major things that we needed to look for in a venue was existing facilities and infrastructure.
Lardner Park has a multitude of features and facilities that make it the perfect venue for the National Jeep Jamboree Victoria 2010, including:
- Terraced camping areas with power throughout the park
- So whether camping or campervanning, you'll have power!
- Toilet/shower facilities
- Dedicated 4WD area inside the park
- Very large undercover areas
- PA system thoughout the park
- Existing picnic tabled area under shade
- Large dam
- Picturesque property surrounded by rolling hills
- Small travelling distance for most Victorians
- Many local tourist attractions
- Access to bushfire effected and local Management Vehicle Only (MVO) tracks
- Access to both public & private competition tracks
Sorry in advance for those canine lovers, Lardner Park is unfortunately a no dog venue. There has been some discussion about this in the Jambo section on AusJeepOffroad with information about local kennels if bringing your dog is a requirement for a bigger trip. The nearest kennel to the Jambo site that has been recommended by OzJeeper (a local) is Granite Hills Boarding Kennel www.granitehillkennels.com.au.
